The Chevrolet Volt

General Motors returns to an electric theme at the Detroit motor show, having not long killed off the EV1, its experimental electric vehicle programme. The Chevrolet Volt is just a concept - it will draw power exclusively from a next-generation battery pack recharged by a small onboard engine.
