Underground Art Tehran

In 1999, Tehran became the first city in Iran to have a subway system. Most of the stations are glamorous, decorated with a combination of Persian and contemporary art executed in luxurious materials. The relief pictured here, one of many at Imam Khomeini station, is by Fakhimi.
